Thanks Nelson…that “list” was from President Bush (whose orthodoxy one might question, I suppose!). It’s been eight years since we’ve had to pray for a President’s salvation and even though it’s of course the first thing one thinks of…I was on automatic pilot when writing this one.

Thanks for the reminder. I find it difficult to do, since I disagree with him on so many issues. For me, the place to start was to pray for his salvation and for his physical safety.

You are right. God removes kings and establish kings for his own purposes. For whatever reason, God has permitted our country to be ruled by Obama. God gave the people (well, half of them) what they wanted. It is kind of like when the Israelites begged for a king–and God gave them Saul.

Pray for B.O.. He needs to be saved. 22 years in a liberal marxist church he never heard the Gospel. A life of achievement probably means he doesn’t rely on the God of the weak and humble but depends on his great talents. Pray that this man escape Hell and that he becomes a follower of the Lord Jesus. How wonderful to have a President that follows the Lord as his son and not as a dog sniffing after prey. Pray that God saves Mr. Obama. Thank you.

A, it’s something I truly, truly believe. Also, if you read my post from two years ago about this…In part, praying for those in authority, even those we don’t like, changes our perspective of that person; we begin seeing them through God’s eyes. It doesn’t mean we’ll like what they do (since I sincerely believe God is, for instance, grieved regarding BHO’s position on abortion), but maybe we’ll have a little more mercy on them. I don’t know…but God told us to do this, and I think it’s important we obey.

You know you are the first Conservative I see that writes an intellingent post about this. It is easy to pray for who you favor. The real test is to pray for someone even if we don’t like him/her. Bravo!
