Hippies and Nazis, an apt comparison; “Mother Earth” vs. God the Father
First off…if anyone knows CSS, I need your help. Yes, I’m willing to pay. While HTML is old hat, I’ve not the time to learn this newfangled stuff. Email is on the left-hand side.
It’s my day today, so…just some fun stuff (har!). Though I had some great stuff lined up Friday, something strange happened and it all floated off into nothingness. Still, there are some things going on, and stuck here as I am with a month-long upper respiratory infection…all I want for my birthday this year is for this thing to go away. And perhaps some garden perennials money…My in-laws did send some lily of the valley, my very favourite flower. They’ll bloom here in the house and then be planted outdoors. I’m very excited, and it’s great fun watching them grow every day. They’re going into the memorial garden we’re planting for Remmy.
What is this, this, this, and this? First the bailout last week, and now this? It isn’t the government’s business. At all. Additionally, if anything, the Fed should be abolished.
Also, when will, say, McDonald’s or Starbucks start to be considered a “financial institution”? There’s a lot of capital tied up there, after all. Hello? America? Are you watching? Hell-ooo?
LESS government, people. Less. Not more. Scary.
Surely y’all saw the news yesterday that Muslims now outnumber Catholics, making Islam the largest religion in the world. Of course, if you put all the different versions of Christianity together (Baptist, Presbyterian, Catholic, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera), Christianity still outnumbers the Religion of Pieces. That said, Muslims do…ah…well, they have large families. Of course, having several wives who aren’t allowed to disagree with you about anything helps in that department. So does that interesting Islamic habit of forced conversion and the other fun habit of turning the women of conquered people into sex slaves.
I thought Drudge putting the headline in blood red was apropos.
Speaking of, Islamists, enraged at having the truth spoken, forced LiveLeak.com to remove Geert Wilders’ Fitna from its site. The film can be seen and downloaded elsewhere around the web, of course; unfortunately, I don’t have video hosting capabilities or I’d allow downloads here as well. Another limb removed from freedom of speech.
But then…it’s back up now!
On the 28th of March LiveLeak.com was left with no other choice but to remove the film “fitna” from our servers following serious threats to our staff and their families. Since that time we have worked constantly on upgrading all security measures thus offering better protection for our staff and families. With these measures in place we have decided to once more make this video live on our site. We will not be pressured into censoring material which is legal and within our rules. We apologise for the removal and the delay in getting it back, but when you run a website you don’t consider that some people would be insecure enough to threaten our lives simply because they do not like the content of a video we neither produced nor endorsed but merely hosted.
Glad I checked. Download it, and if you can allow people to download from your site, do so.
Okay, just a couple of things.
From Kim du Toit and a Quote of the Day from last week:
From Steve:
It’s funny how hippies love so many things associated with the Nazis. Volkswagen Beetles. BMWs. Vegetarianism. Excessive concern about animal rights. Eugenics. Government control of industry. Anti-Semitism.
Not so sure about the Beemers, but then again, BMWs are just VWs for grown-up hippies (ie. the ones who Sold out And Are Part Of The System, Man).
…It says something that a hopelessly-stupid 18-year-old kid in the early 1970s (that would be me) could decide that the whole hippie thing was ultimately pointless—yet now, nearly forty years later, people still think that the hippie thing is a viable alternative to capitalism.
…Remember, folks: scratch a liberal, there’s a totalitarian underneath.
Beauteous. It’s true about the Nazis, by the way; they were all about organic food, yogurt, Mother Earth, government managing anything and everything, the supremacy of science…
“Mother Earth”. That’s another thing. It’s my sincere hope none of you were doltish enough to actually turn out all of your lights this past weekend to show your solidarity with the mindless and clearly hopeless of the earth. “Mother Earth”. Ugh. Every single magazine to which I subscribe — all but two of them home and cooking magazines — has dedicated itself to “green living”. It’s noxious and starting to become depressing. Be careful and conscientious, yes, but…some folks are starting to go overboard. Worse, they demand we all be forced to do the same.
Now, Jesus told us to call no one but God “Father”. He didn’t say anything about moms, though. Still, it’s unsurprising to me, now that man has rejected Yahweh, something, anything had to take His place. So now we have “Mother Earth” in place of Father God the Almighty. People are busier worrying about and working for the benefit and best of the creation, which cares nothing for them and would summarily destroy many of them (“survival of the fittest”, remember?), than they are the Creator, who loves and cares for them so infinitely He gave up His throne and life for them.
Sad. Sad, the deception and lies the devil gets away with. It is truly tragic if one thinks about it.
