Home Run (and a suggestion)
The best ad from Campaign ’08 thus far. In this spot, McCain’s campaign has done nothing more than use BHO’s words and the beyond absurd obsession of the press in this spot and spiced it up in a very entertaining fashion, reminiscent of and perhaps inspired by Gerard Baker’s uproariously funny (and spot-on) Times Online “He ventured forth to bring light to the world” column from a week or so ago. It pokes fun at the Messianic, “hope of the universe” rhetoric pouring out of the Obama campaign and the press.
If this doesn’t elicit a chuckle from you, it’s really time to loosen up a bit.
Genius. And witty, too…especially the Moses clip. The BHO response does nothing, really, other than prove that Obama has no sense of humour; were they to put together a spot poking fun at McCain as a crazy, untrustworthy maverick cowboy, hat, horse, and all, ropin’ and hog-tyin’ Republicans, terrorists, and poor folk, McCain would probably laugh heartily before making a response.
Good job, McCain 08. Next time, why not a response to Obama’s insinuation that we shouldn’t be able to drive, eat, or heat as we like by pointing out that this is America, the most innovative nation in the world, and how you, sir, will loosen restrictions on free enterprise and allow inventors and the creative types to come up with solutions without the feds dogging (and taxing) their every move?

That’s the best McCain ad I’ve seen so far.
