Upside Down

What a crazy world. Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, considered mi amigo by Barack Obama, is worried that he and Fidel Castro look too conservative compared to the American POTUS. This comes on the same day we hear that he thinks America is one of the largest Muslim nations in the world (this is so ridiculously wrong it’s barely a joke, perhaps just a bit of wishful thinking), one day before he makes a speech that, according to the White House, is about “resetting” our “relationship” with the Muslim world “based upon mutual interests and mutual respect”. Really? We have a “mutual interest” with and “respect” for an ideology that has the destruction of freedom at its core? I mean, we know he doesn’t think we are or ever were a Christian nation (what books did he read, what speeches?), but to think we’re a nation that has anything in common with those who stone women for being raped, torture political dissidents, and ban things like music and pets is remarkable indeed.

Oh, but wait: This in a world where the US government has just taken over General Motors (more) and is dictating what kinds of cars they have to build (cars no one wants) which dealerships are to be shut down (including the bizarre decision to shut down very productive dealers, many of them anti-Obama donors, but that must be a coincidence), is doing its best to take over the banks, want to dictate pay, “force” “volunteering”, has decided that you will have to relinquish your children to the government for “service”…? Does Obama believe in real freedom? Or another form of government that begins with an “F”?

Oh, and Timmy Geithner is a big fat liar.

What is going on?

And the Red Wings dropped Game 3 last night!

Please tell me it’s all a bad dream.

I’m *this close* to unplugging. Really.
