Another Actual Household Conversation

No, this really occurred today. Enjoy!

Hubby: Kind of crazy day at work. What’s that? (Peers at the two rose books I found at the used bookstore today; I love roses and fear i’m becoming addicted.)Do roses grow in Texas?

Me: Oh, yes! Many roses, as it turns out, looooooooove Texas. Love it.

Hubby: We should move to Texas. (Coworker) and I looked and found that (company) and (company) are based down there.

Me: (enthusiastically) Okay!

Hubby: Your mother would kill me. Taking you all the way to Texas…

Me: That’s fine. She can suffer the tyranny in America. We’ll enjoy the liberty and freedom in the Great State Of Texas.

(Sorry, Mom.)

(But nothing is stopping them from moving to Texas themselves…)

Wow! That’s quite a move. My sister loved living in Texas. I doubt that your marshmallow frosting will ever work now though ;) it is hot there even in late fall and winter.

Oh, yes … roses most certainly do grow here in my beautiful Texas. The first link is to a nursery specializing in roses, located in Brenham, Texas. We have been here and it is a wonderful place, indeed.

The second link is to a nursery that was in operation not more than 40 miles up the road from us. Sadly, it is no longer in business, but the owner has left the site up due to the reference materials to be found therein, and also in memory of his wife, Marcia, who passed away about a year and a half ago. Her story is there to be read, and I think you will find it a heartwarming read – full of the love between a man and woman and their God.

And as I’ve told you many times, Jen – Texas would welcome you and Zack with open arms! :)

LOL No, Cassandra, it never would set for sure, not without cranking up the AC! Ah well. ;) Too funny…

Thanks for the links, Laura, I’ll definitely check the second one out. This girl is very familiar with ARE and it is a VERY DANGEROUS CATALOG. Very dangerous.
